So as most of you may know I am officially a college graduate!!! And Maleah is my biggest fan by far...In fact after the ceremony she told my that she cheered for me and said "go mommy! go!..." With that, since then, every time she hears or sees something that resembles a "gra-jashun," she asks me, "is that that your 'gra-jashun' mommy?"

Among other things, she was recently Tinkerbell for Halloween...which I didn't mind because "tink" doesn't wear pink! (wow...I didn't mean to rhyme) She was so cute because anytime she was in her costume she would introduce herself as being Tinkerbell...Needless to say, her first "trunk-or-treat" experience was successful, minus the fact that she was afraid of every kid dressed-up as spiderman, but that's beside the point ;)

And once again, I am realizing that my baby is getting older. The other day, while having a play date at Chik-fil-a with ronda and vincent, I had one of my "my baby is growing up" momments: they were Playing in the playground, and coincidentally my Maleah was playing with another "Maleah". While simultaneously conversing with ronda, I noticed the game my Maleah and the other Maleah were playing...my Maleah was the "mommy," and the other Maleah was pretending to be a dog...and in that moment I had to stop my conversation when I realized that Maleah was playing with another child, appose to just playing next to another child. A person without kids may be thinking "Why are you so excited about this?" but this is a milestone in Maleah's development. It was like watching a flower blossom.

And blossom she will as we enter the 3rd year of Maleah's life...I know, I know... I can't believe it either...but time waits for no one...

My little Chef!

So this is Maleah's sanctum, her kitchen. It is probably the best toy investment her "Papa Sid" ever made. Not to mention the fact that she will sit and watch the food network with me as if she's going to try the recipes in her own kitchen. I said all that to announce that today Maleah and I baked a pizza together (an eatable Bobalee pizza)...It was very exciting! She had her little apron on and her job was to put the cheese and pepperoni on top of the pizza (a very important job!). Even though she was eating the toppings more than anything else, she was very proud of what she had done...my little chef...Normally dinner is her least favorite meal to eat, but because she made the pizza, she was all about it; she at a whole slice! You could really tell she liked her pizza because she was humming and dancing as she ate it...and every few bites she would say, "I made this mommy." She has become quite the homemaker. Anytime some one is doing house work she'll bust out with her Maleah size swiffer sweeper, vacuum, or mop...and then she'll say, "I helping..." The moral of the story is...she'll probably make a good wife someday...years from now...Oh but I don't want to think that far...that means that I'll be old...plus I need to get married first;) Until next time...that is the update on Maleah!

Guess Who Went Pee-Pee On the Potty?

This is the face of a girl that just went "pee pee" on the potty!!! It happened like this...I had been making excuses about potty training Maleah for probably a month or two...because she's been ready...the reason why I know this is because she tells me "poop" when she's about to go number two...not when she's gone already...she tells me when she's about to go (you heard me right)...So like I said, I've been making excuses...I had to get the perfect potty and get this video called "Elmo's Potty Time" (great video...very amusing)...So finally one day I bought all the needed supplies...but It still took me another week to bust out with everything...now that I think about it...I think I have a problem...Here it is...I'll lay it all out for you...first she started daycare, then she goes "pee pee" on the potty, then she has her first day of kindergarten, and before you know it she's graduating from college...I want her to stay a little girl forever...well maybe not forever...but the point is, she's growing up so fast...I remember when her poo-poo was tar brown after she was first born (I know, too graphic)...back to the subject...So before it happen, we sat down and watched "Elmo's Potty Time" and she was all into it. They were singing songs about how some kids call it wee wee and woo woo, and I won't go into detail but after the video we gave it a try...I sat her little booty on the potty...I walked out of the room for a second...and when I came back Maleah's legs were up and she was looking down, not completely sure if she done a good or bad thing...I walked over and looked in the potty and I screamed with excitement...which made Maleah excited...and we were high-fiving each other...I ran downstairs and got the camera and took pictures of her looking at her pee, I took picture of her actual pee (as proof!) and then I called almost everyone in my phonebook...It was one of the proudest moments I've had since she started walking and talking...she just makes me proud...She hasn't gone pee-pee on the potty since then...but what's the rush...

First Week of Daycare

Maleah started daycare this past Monday. So far she has been great...I'm not saying that because I'm her mom...I say that because that is a direct quote from the instructors...So the week before I was pumping her up for the whole daycare experience....I told her she would have fun, make friends, and learn lots of things...She probably had no clue what I was talking about in those moments...but when I dropped her off on her first day she was a "G" about it...for those that don't comprehend how Maleah is a "G"...I'll put it another way...she handled it very well...probably better than me...I gave her a kiss, told to have fun, and I told her that I would be back...and her response was, "bye!!!" Like she wanted me to leave...I mean, its not like I wanted her to cry (that would have made it hard for me)...She was ready to play with all the kids (she loves t be around kids)...the second day was the same as the first...she was cheerful and excited to go to daycare...Today was a little different. she was so excited about going "bye-bye" that she didn't want to eat breakfast...so I had to convince her to eat her breakfast...but when we got there. There were two little boys crying...which didn't make Maleah to happy...but she moved on from it by playing with the toys...but then this other little boy comes up and tries to take the house that Maleah was playing with...Maleah got mad and screamed "NO!!!MINE!!!" and the two start pulling the toy house back and forth, away from one another...I intervene and convince Maleah to play with the barn house, so that the boy could play with the other house...Maleah complies...I then give her a kiss and do my whole "good-bye" routine like I had done the previous two days...the difference with today was that when I walked away, Maleah came chasing after me with tears in her eyes...At that moment, the staff members swooped Maleah up to comfort her before I could even think about picking her up...so I gave her another kiss, and I left...heartbroken by all of her tears...but I didn't want to stay because that would have made it worse...so I left feeling very distraught...when I got home I called the daycare to see if she was ok...and she was...but then the girl told me that since today was her last day in daycare for the week, that come Monday, with her being out for four days, that I should be prepared for Maleah to cry again...it's going to rough...
